Last night, Saturday Night Live star Kristen Wiig signed off as a cast member for the final time. As a tribute, she danced with each of her fellow actors and actresses, as well as longtime headman Lorne Michaels. The moment was touching and fitting, the perfect way to say goodbye to a woman who has been such an integral part of the late night show for so long.

During her tenure, Wiig created a lot of memorable characters and appeared in a lot of brilliant sketches, but her most noteworthy accomplishment might actually be that shes arguably the first woman ever to be the most important cast member at any given time. Many brilliant comediennes have made people laugh on that famous stage, but all existed (somewhat) under the shadow of a more famous and more beloved male performer. Gilda Radner played opposite John Belushi, Chevy Chase, Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray. Julia Louis-Dreyfus shared the screen with Eddie Murphy. Molly Shannon, Maya Rudolph and Ana Gasteyer co-existed with Will Ferrell, and Tina Fey and Amy Poehler overlapped with Jimmy Fallon.

Of course, Wiig too competed for screen time with great male cast members like Jason Sudeikis, Bill Hader, Andy Samberg and Kenan Thompson, but for the first time, a fair argument could actually be made that she was the central attraction. So, the question is, will Kristen Wiig go down as the best female cast member of all-time? Or was she simply a very good cast member who greatly benefited from the period she worked on the show?

Timothy Busfield, probably best known for telling Kevin Costner to sell his farm in Field Of Dreams, has been accused of sexual battery, though the specifics of the incident are far from clear cut. The Revenge Of The Nerds star took an unidentified woman out on a date Wednesday night. The two wound up at a movie theater where they talked, flirted and began kissing. At some point during the makeout session, Busfield supposedly touched the womans boobs and genital area. She stormed out and decided to file a police report the next day.

According to TMZ, the actor hasnt been arrested, but authorities have begun an investigation and will interview him in the near future. Given that he hasnt addressed the situation in the press, its unclear what he might say, or whether a crime was even committed for that matter.

From an outside perspective, it seems like there are two different things that could have happened here. The first involves the woman telling Busfield to keep it above the shoulders and the actor repeatedly refusing until his date stormed out. The second involves Busfield misreading how well the date was going, swinging for the fences and then seeing the woman exit quickly. The first is a reason to charge someone with sexual battery. The second seems more like a reason to delete someones number from your phonebook.

Well keep you updated if the specifics of the situation ever come out or if Busfield gets charged in a court of law.

After a season of a few strong episodes, some weak ones and others that fell somewhere in between, Saturday Night Live closed out its thirty-seventh season strong with Mick Jagger as host. The episode was full of great sketches, including a digital short that revisited “Lazy Sunday,” the return of Stefon to Weekend Update, and a surprisingly moving farewell to Kristen Wiig.

I don’t think I’ve ever teared up during an episode of SNL, however last night’s closing “sketch” triggered the water-works for me. It appears the rumors may be true that Kristen Wiig is leaving SNL. At least, that’s what the “She’s a Rainbow” closing sketch strongly implied as Wiig was introduced as a graduate, after which every cast member took a turn dancing with her. Wiig, herself, began to tear up during the segment, which ended with the whole SNL cast, and some returning players from the sketch comedy series (and Jon Hamm) joining her on stage. It was a great sendoff and one fitting for Wiig, who’s proven to be a huge asset to the series. With that said, given the length of her run on the show and her film success, she’s about due to move on. I doubt last night was the last time we’ll see her on the SNL stage, either.

Meanwhile, Jagger did a great job as host, contributing to the humor in numerous sketches and delivering three strong music performances, accompanied by Arcade Fire, The Foo Fighters and Jeff Beck.

With Facebooks initial public offering on Friday, headman Mark Zuckerberg officially became a billionaire, but to one woman, he now boasts another important title: husband. The twenty-eight-year-old married his longtime girlfriend Priscilla Chan in a ceremony in the couples backyard earlier today.

According to The New York Times, the small number of guests, reportedly under one hundred, were told the event would be to celebrate Chans graduation, but when they arrived, they were greeted with a simple wedding featuring catered sushi and lots of smiles.

Chan and Zuckberg met while they were both studying at Harvard almost a decade ago. Through hundred hour work weeks and one hundred billion dollar valuations, they stayed together and forged a solid partnership. Neither seems to be the most social of people and both have preferred to keep their relationship largely out of the headlines, today excluded of course.

Naturally, details of the wedding were posted on Facebook. Relationship statuses were changed, and one would imagine, the couple generated a whole lot of likes by saying I Do.

Pop Blends well-wishes go out to Zuckerberg and Chan. Having been together nine years already, their lives shouldnt really be changed by todays ceremony, but still, its nice to formally commit in front of friends and family. Heres to hoping they celebrate a fiftieth anniversary in front of many of the same people.

Actor Nick Stahl vanished more than a week ago. His estranged wife filed a missing persons report, and the Los Angeles Police Department has been running down leads ever since. No concrete evidence ever materialized, but it now seems like the media blitz might have actually paid off in the form of an email. Not wanting those closest to him to worry anymore, Stahl reportedly sent friends an email saying he was alive and checking into treatment for thirty days.

According to TMZ, the Terminator 3 star said he was sorry for the emotional toll hes caused and told those closest in copy that hed be unreachable for the next month. That last part has reportedly gotten his friends and family a bit worried, but it still seems like theres reason for optimism.

Several people reportedly received the same email, but supposedly, Stahls wife Rose was not one of them. The two have been living at separate residences for some time, and she demanded he pass a drug test prior to each visit with their daughter.

Because the contact was an email rather than a more direct communication, the correspondence has already given rise to some conspiracy theories about someone hacking the account, but theres really no evidence of any shady business at this juncture. Hopefully, it really was Stahl, and he really is checking into treatment.

Stahls family can breathe a little easier today, but Im sure they wont completely calm down until he appears in the flesh healthy and totally sober.
